The Change Dilemma
Have you ever been in a situation where you are consistently flooded by thoughts of quitting your job which pays your bills and starts something on your own? at least 60% of the world population aspires to become their boss but due to lack of guidance and skill set, they are consistently confused about the payment of their bills.
There are thoughts in everyone’s mind on usually on how to start their own business. It’s not that they are not talented but they kind of lack guidance on kick-starting. From childhood, we are fed with thoughts on working and being a slave to someone so we can have a secured and stable career. However, a few of them go out of their way to set up their own business and be their bosses many of them are even successful but many have faced losses as well that is due to a fact that they are investing in a business where they do not have much skill set on and there can be additional external factors as well.
To overcome that we need to build on skills we can sell. When you speak to an employer you are ideally selling yourselves and when we can put in so much effort builds many skills to sell our services to an employer. We can also sell ourselves to the clients. The reason we do not put in so much effort to sell ourselves to partners is that we are daunted by a situation where we may not get enough clients or we may have to consistently keep putting in an effort. But when we sell ourselves to the employer then we’re perhaps doing a one-time or maybe a few times task in our lives. People get settled for lazy maybe because they like to be in a secured position, they have commitments, they have to pay bills and they need a stress-free life. The question is how happy we are to be always sticking to the same employer. Change is inevitable and the day we realize there is nothing permanent other than change then we will stop getting comfortable and push ourselves to build the skills and partner with the client.
The ways to improve skills are to firstly push yourself, set goals, get out of the comfort zone, and learn and build the skills on selling ourselves to clients. The more we meet people or clients is what we learn. The major formula for success is not to take failure to heart and keep trying till you succeed. The day we get the no-give-up attitude is the day when we will be successful. Having said that, every expert was once a beginner. The more you practice is the more you learn and the more you grow. Do tell me your thoughts on how you became successful in your fields and how you persevered to be in the position to what you are today?
