Questioning Faith?

--

I am writing a controversial topic of Faith as it made me think about certain situations and people's mindsets. I am not judging anyone. I am looking to re-establish my thought process so I can strengthen my faith and remove any kind of distractions to practice my own faith. Needless to mention, my faith is not so weak to have been questioned. However, as a human we do come across situations and scenarios which question the belief we may be carrying and it is hard to persuade any individual with half information. However, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Having said that, I will narrate a small conversation between an acquaintance and me about ideas on faith and religion.

So, I sat by the window in a train deciding and looking anxiously for my next destination and I happened to confront an acquaintance. After all the pleasantries exchange we spoke to each other and she started in a very soft voice when I appreciated the beautiful day as I happen to pass by all the scenic beauties praising the creator and she questions me if I believe in God and I answer her without a second thought as a believer, “Of course!! and Do you believe in God?” I ask her a similar question and she replies stating that she believes in energy and backs up her logic with all the laws of science which she could remember at that moment. According to her, with due respect, God as an entity does not have time for us as humans and the Universe is so massive that God does not have time to think about each individual.

After the conversation, there was obvious discomfort as I did not agree with her views although I do believe that Universe is massive and everyone is aware of that but I don't reckon that God does not have time for every human being he created. I believe that if he did not have time for us why would he even create us and if he did not have time for us he wouldn't test us at every walk of our lives. There are ups and downs in everyone's life. My counter-question to her was after a small debate “Does science tell you where do we go after death”? She said we decompose. “yes! our body does but what about the soul?”

It was just not a conversation to me. It was the opportunity to understand the way people perceive different things and get settled with what they know as they find it too tedious to research more about this topic. People often forget that due to the worldly things they are overtaken with like Jobs, kids, and many more. However, I believe the only thing you should be concerned about in the whole world is your connection with the almighty cause we came alone and we really do not know where we come from although many sacred books have their own theories the Islamic book states that we come from a place “Al- Arwah” which is a place for all the souls like a soul warehouse which is not clearly detailed and we go to “Barzakh” after death but at least it sounds better to hear than thinking that we don't have any identity after death and we just decompose which is what science states.

Life keeps us so busy that we think God has no time for us. If God had no time for us he wouldn't have decided everything to be so perfect even the tiny protons and electrons revolve in their own orbits and humans are much more massive than those tiny particles so for me God is watching me and he has all-time in the world for everyone in this world. The question is “Do we have time to pray”?

Life is simple, we come alone and we go alone. In between, we meet people which become a part of the family and friends and we share the bond for a while and then we depart alone. There is some reasoning and purpose behind every veil and Quran clearly states that there is a barrier between death and living and our veils are lifted after death to see the reality and the purpose we were tested. I know it's a very deep topic that by writing here I cannot clear the thought process. However, I just wanted to list a few ideas and thoughts about how life keeps us busy and mislead about certain things which are actually the most important things in life. I conclude by stating May the Almighty guide us all in the right direction.
