From a bored remote Employee to a paid content writer

When I started on medium I was completely clueless about what topics I can write about and if people would even read what I write. I started just penning my experiences on a daily life which actually helped me when I was working remotely with very less human interactions. In fact, I am actually happy that I penned my experiences rather than speaking to a human. Although human interactions can never replace writing it started paying me.

I got my first client on one of the job portals and I was thinking that content writing is a job I would hate and I would be bored although the content I write is what is requested and has nothing to do with my interests. I am glad I have accumulated certain samples and I understand what is content writing. It’s not giving me a fortune or it pays my bills at this stage but I am happy that a passion which started as a bored remote employee has started transforming itself into a small side hustle which is paying me a little extra money which is very well at least takes out my mobile bills recharge.

I am thinking to pitch in more for a content writing job. At this stage, I don’t want to make it a full-time profession but I think it’s better to nurture my writing till I have enough clients which can pay my bills. I definitely dont want to take it as a job but I want to freelance my services. As a qualified accountant, I write as a finance writer which helped me gain more knowledge on topics which I never focussed on. I am loving content writing and I hope I could convert my services as a freelancer and be able to work as a full-fledged content writer someday till then I will keep writing on a platform which has given me a medium to showcase my writing.
