Being an Introvert and Extrovert at the same time

--

Do they exist? Yes, they do! They are called ambiverts. How it feels to be an introvert and an extrovert at the same time. I would class myself as an ambivert as I have the need to talk to people when I am down or I need company but unlike all the extroverts. I also crave being left alone and do my own stuff or crave for me time.

I am sure many ambiverts have the same story to tell. I would class some of the qualities you will find in an ambivert

Talking to people whom you like

Many ambiverts prefer speaking but they just need to get comfortable with the person whom they would like to speak to. It may take a couple of meetings and observation of the person whom they prefer talking to. An ambivert likes to observe the person and examine them if they are reliable to talk to and if they are going to judge in case of whatever we like to speak. An ambivert sure does enjoy speaking but it may take a few meetings and a couple of short talks to observe the opposite person before they open up about their stuff.

Comfortable in Social but prefer lonely time

Although ambivert likes to be in social settings depending on their mood they get tired of it easily and would like to escape to a lonely place to rejuvenate the thought process. An ambivert takes time to refresh the thought process and come back fresh to be in another social setting.

Keen Listener and a Great advisor

An ambivert is a keen listener and also doesn't shy away from asking questions if they are not sure of anything while listening and they take time to come up with the solutions to tackle the situations. basically, they empathize with the opposite person and also provide alternate solutions so the opposite person feels comfortable. Empathy comes naturally to an ambivert personality

Great leaders

An ambivert personality can fit in to become a good leader as they would have the listening skills along with the skills to provide solutions and empathize with the opposite person. However, they would not enjoy sitting in meetings the whole day or be a manager as they tend to prefer to be alone and independent at the same time so to make their mood and mind work. They would prefer a balance between great leaders as well as at the same time they would want to be even individual contributors.

Keeping a balance

Ambiverts like keeping a balance of both the personality, They can be great communicators when the need arises and also keep quiet when their advice is not respected. It depends on which personality they would like to pick on the situations they are facing. It is definitely good to be ambiverts at times but they also require lonely time and like everything organized so they can have their me time to rejuvenate.
